Our Journey to Walk On

Quite a lot has been going on in the Switzer household over the past few months or so that now we are finally able to go public with.  We'd love to have the prayers and thoughts of all our family and friends as we go on from here because this is only the beginning of our new stage in life and we are so excited to see where and how God will take us.  Let's start out with this...

Before it began God began a work in my own heart, to see my calling to ministry and the dream to work with children revealing Jesus in such a real way to them.  Before Northgate launched their walk on campaign I was doing a lot of searching and after lots of prayer, reflection and guidance I started prayerfully applying to different children ministry director positions in various Churches around the state.  I took a few interviews over the phone, but nothing ever felt just right.  As things began to come to a standstill I really just became at peace of where I was and waiting on God's timing.  No sooner did I start doing that, did Walk On start at Northgate.  When I say it took all I had inside me to stay in my seat and not get up and jump for joy that first weekend of our new series, I'm not joking.  There, that very day I felt God's perfect plan unfold in my heart and soon after, right in front of my eyes.

After a few meetings with pastors and different  members at Northgate I, soaked in prayer and meditation, have accepted the director of children's ministry position at the south campus for NGFMC.  It is what God has been preparing my heart for over the past few months, and over the past few years.  God has been slowly preparing my heart and my passion for children ministry and as I've grown over the past few years I am so excited to take all I have been doing and do His work to help further His kingdom.  On the new campus I will be overseeing children's programing for birth-preschool age children.

So...now what?? what will my life look like in a few months?

I will be stepping down from my job at Pearce 4 Kids, June 24th will be my last day there.  It will be such a bittersweet day, I have enjoyed my time there and will be sad to leave such an awesome place to work, but in order to focus more on my duties at NG south I see it to be the best arrangement for me and my family.  I will become a stay at home mom with Aiden and work for NG.  This will give me some flexablity to be with my son more and also work from home most of the time.  I'm so excited to be spending more time with my son and look forward to that new adventure in our lives as we make this change.

This is very new to all of us, and we are learning as we grow and develop what God has planned for our lives as well as the life of Northgate. I ask first for everyone to please pray.  Pray for Northgate as we are transitioning to one of the biggest changes in the history of our church.  Pray for our staff as we cont. to develop our core team, pray for our pastor John that the Lord will guide him and direct him in the way of this new church plant.  Lastly I ask you to pray for my family as this is going to be such a huge change for us all.  Thank you all for your love, prayers and support so far, we look forward to see God at work in our lives and the life of the church in our future.

I promise as our journey continues to keep you updated!!
